From a letter posted on the STAND website and Facebook page:
It’s hard to imagine this latest lawsuit will be resolved in time for the start of school – and at this time the prop 39 charter does not have access to their classrooms at White Hill Middle School. Even more concerning for RVC is the lack of a signed Facilities Use Agreement (FUA), which they tied to their lawsuit. Because of this, the district’s hands are tied and they are unable to negotiate all of the components of the FUA outside of the lawsuit and rectify the situation.
Let’s take a look at these two statements of purported to be “facts”:
at this time the prop 39 charter does not have access to their classrooms at White Hill Middle School | This statement was true because, believe it or not, Rick Bagley changed all the locks (including the office) at the Charter facilities at White Hill. And without even notifying RVC management. Classy. And for what purpose? Spite? Petulance, left over RVSD budget money? Of course not. It was to provide Stand with the information to publish in order to frighten prospective parents thinking of enrolling their children in the Charter. Not nice.
The rooms are now open!
lack of a signed Facilities Use Agreement | As mentioned above, the rooms are open now but only after more lawyers and expense.
So what’s the takeaway from all this? I think we should all start thinking for ourselves and looking to more sources of information than just the district and STAND. It’s pretty clear by now they are working the propaganda angle together to frighten and discourage prospective parents. It’s disappointing that they don’t see the truth as a tactic instead of deception and intimidation. But, most thinking people will recognize that every conflict has a means to resolution. People do it all the time. And we should all be very suspicious of thoses who refuse to negotiate or mediate.
